You need the same modpack as the server. Everything else (the economy, towns, nations) is built into the server, so there's nothing extra to install.
Get the Technic Launcher
Download it from technicpack.net, sign in with your Minecraft account, and search the modpacks for Tekkit 2.
Install Tekkit 2 v1.2.6
Pick version 1.2.6 so it matches the server, then press Play and let it finish installing. We recommend giving it 6 GB of RAM or more in the launcher settings.
Add the server
Multiplayer → Add Server → address yomikeysmp.modrinth.gg. Join, and you'll land on the spawn deck facing the Y.

Forge City
From above, the canyon is the YoMikey Y. The city has three levels: the rim streets, two terraces of cliff walkways, and the canyon floor with its river and Metro. Six glass ladder towers connect them.

The Y & the lake
An 80-block monument on an island. Causeways cross the lake; the Metro loops around it.
Market Hall, Exchange, Shop Lots
Chest shops inside the hall, the Exchange with its trading menu and live price screen, and 15 lots to rent.
Vault Bank, Portal Hub, Towers
Personal vaults, the Nether portal, and two apartment towers with roof gardens.
Hall of Nations & Justice
The treaty registry, the Courthouse, the Penitentiary and Embassy Row.
Cliff Pods
Glass apartments built into the rock along the ledges. Free to claim.
Reactor & News Wire
A cooling tower landmark in the north-east and the broadcast tower in the north-west, with the News Wire screen on its face.
The city has screens
Forge City is wired with real ComputerCraft advanced monitors. Each one has a computer behind it running our display program, and the server feeds it live data every 20 seconds: who's online, Exchange prices, the news, wars and treaties.
The spawn board is the first thing you see. It rotates through the welcome screen, live server stats, prices, headlines and a getting-started guide. Tap any screen to flip the page.
The Exchange board shows every price with its 24-hour change, how much stock the Exchange holds, the day's biggest movers, and a price chart for each item.
All pictures are screenshots from the live server.

What's for sale, auctions ending soon, richest players and top companies.
Lots for rent
Free apartments and shop lots, live.
Forge Coins
Every player has a coin balance on the server. Coins are earned by selling to the Exchange or to other players, and spent in shops, the auction house, rent, town upkeep and taxes.
The Exchange trades 20+ materials, and the list grows. Prices move with its stock: flood it with iron and iron gets cheap, run it dry and sellers get paid more. It only sells what players have sold to it, so nothing comes from thin air.
ProjectE is mined-only for rare goods. Uranium, iridium, steel, desh, titanium, nether stars and dark/red matter have no EMC, so they have to be mined or made. That's what gives mining towns their value.
Signs on chests
Put a chest in the Market Hall, your shop lot or your town, then place a sign on it. Line 1 is [Shop] to sell or [Buy] to buy, line 2 is the amount, and line 3 is the price. Right-click the sign to activate it.
Buyers pay straight into your balance, even while you're offline. Every active shop shows up in /store, so people can find you.
Selling something rare? List it on the auction house with /ah sell <price> or start a bidding war with /ah auction <start> [hours].
Example signs after activation. A [Buy] sign pays sellers from the owner's balance.
The Exchange menu
Inside the Exchange, type /exchange or right-click a terminal. Every item opens in one chest-style menu, with its price, the Exchange's stock and how many you're carrying in the tooltip.
Left-click buys one and shift-click buys 16. Right-click sells one and shift-right-click sells all you carry. The hopper sells everything the Exchange buys in one go. It works with the normal Tekkit client, nothing to install.
Want something new traded? Hold it and type /exchange request. Staff see a most-wanted list with a suggested price, and when an item gets listed the News Wire announces it.
| Click | Does |
|---|---|
| Left-click an item | Buy 1 |
| Shift + left-click | Buy 16 |
| Right-click an item | Sell 1 |
| Shift + right-click | Sell all you carry |
| Hopper (shift-click) | Sell everything the Exchange buys |
Claim your land
Found a town at least 160 blocks from spawn with /t new <name>. Your chunk becomes the town's home, and you can expand one chunk at a time with /t claim.
Town land is protected. Outsiders can't build, break, open chests or machines, or blow anything up. Quarries and turtles keep working. PvP is off unless your town turns it on.
Towns have their own bank. Mayors set a daily tax, and the town pays daily upkeep. If the bank runs dry, the town loses its newest chunk each day. Keep it funded.
/t map shows. New claims must touch your land, and towns keep a 2-chunk gap between them.500 FCto found a town50 FC / chunkto claim, paid from the town bank10 FC + 2 FC per chunkdaily upkeep8 chunks + 4 per residentmaximum claimsStations, rail and freight
Towns build stations. Players lay the track. Ride a minecart from one station to another and the link is added to the network map automatically. Then people pay each other to move goods along it.
Companies
Start a mining outfit, a power company or a rail line with /co new <name>. You become CEO and own all 1,000 shares.
Hire staff, promote managers and pay salaries from the company bank. Sell stakes by transferring shares, then pay everyone at once with /co dividend. The payout is split by how many shares each person holds.
/co shares shows a company's real shareholders.Nations
A town mayor founds a nation for 1,000 FC from the town bank and invites other towns to join. Every resident of a member town becomes a citizen. Then the nation picks how it's governed.

Treaties are real documents
A leader drafts a treaty with /treaty draft <nation> <type> <terms>. The other leader gets Sign and Reject buttons. Once it's signed, both leaders receive an official written book, and the treaty is posted on the Registry boards in the Hall of Nations.
Treaties do things. An alliance stops allies hurting each other and blocks war between them. A trade treaty removes tariffs. A non-aggression pact forbids declaring war. A peace treaty ends one.
Leaders can set tariffs on foreign shoppers, impose sanctions that block trade, and vote in the Grand Council, where a passed SANCTION <nation> resolution binds everyone.
Alliance Treaty #1
Between the nation of Ironreach and the nation of Verdant.
Mutual alliance: citizens cannot harm each other, and neither nation may declare war on the other.
Each defends the other's rail lines and shares the Ironhold–Greenvale freight route.
Courts and the Penitentiary
Got scammed or griefed? Take it to court. Judges are appointed by staff, and every conviction goes on the player's public record.
Your stuff is safe here
A server like this only works if people trust it. These are built in from day one.
Grief logging & rollback
Every block placed, broken or blown up is logged. Staff can see who did it and put it back exactly as it was.
Reports reach staff
Report a player with your location attached, even when no staff are online. You're told when it's handled.
Safe zone
Forge City is protected and mob-free, and PvP is always off there, even during wars.
Protected land
Town claims, lots and vaults can only be touched by their owners and people they trust.
Player disputes
Scammed? Take them to court. Judges can fine, jail or order payback.
Rules & handbook
Clickable rules and guides in chat, and a handbook book for every new player.
Staff can only do what their rank allows
No one gets op except the owner. Every staff action is logged, and staff can only act on people below their rank.

Help run YoMikey SMP
Staff keep the server fun and fair. They welcome new players, answer questions, handle reports, roll back grief and keep chat friendly between rival nations. It's a volunteer role for people who already enjoy playing here.
What you get: the [Mod] tag, staff chat, and the mod tools in the table above: reports, freezing suspected cheaters, teleporting to problems, grief rollback and short bans. Great mods can be promoted to Admin.
Applications happen in game, so only staff ever see your answers.
- Join the server and play for at least 2 hours.
- Type this in chat:
/apply - Answer 6 short questions right in chat. Your answers go only to staff, never to public chat.
- An admin reviews it, and you'll get a message in game either way, even if you were offline when they decided.
See the questions
- What time zone are you in, and when are you usually online?
- Have you been staff on a server before?
- A player says their house was griefed. What do you do, step by step?
- Two nations are arguing in public chat and it's getting heated. What do you do?
- Why do you want to help run YoMikey SMP?
- How can we reach you outside the game?

Keep it fun for everyone
No harassment, slurs, hate speech or spam. Keep chat, signs, names and builds PG-13.
Don't break, take or change anything that isn't yours, claimed or not. Every block change is logged and can be rolled back.
No hacked clients, x-ray, duping or exploiting bugs. Found a bug? Tell staff with /report.
No giant mob farms, item spam or chunk-loading empty land.
Only on your own claimed land, away from other people. No nukes.
Allowed in the wilderness. Off in Forge City, and off in towns unless the town turns it on. Wars follow /war rules.
Scamming is a crime here. Victims can take you to /court.
Don't claim or build right up against another town without asking.
Main lines are two tracks with signals. Don't park carts on main lines or cut someone else's line.
No alts to farm starter coins or swing elections.
Staff and judge decisions stand. Disagree? Use /report or talk to staff privately.
Breaking rules: warning, then mute or jail, then kick, then ban. Serious griefing or cheating can mean an instant ban. Read them in game with /rules.
Is it free? Do I need to install anything extra?
It's free. You only need the Tekkit 2 modpack (v1.2.6) from the Technic Launcher. Everything else, from the economy to the screens, runs on the server.
How do I become staff?
Play for at least 2 hours, then type /apply in game and answer six short questions. An admin reviews every application and you'll get a message either way.
How do I make money fast?
Mine and sell to the Exchange early. Prices for scarce goods like uranium start high and drop as players sell. After that, run a shop, take freight jobs, or work for a company.
Why can't I EMC-condense uranium or nether stars?
Those items are mined-only on this server so that mining towns and trade matter. Common items still work with ProjectE as normal.
Can I lose my town?
Only if the town bank can't pay daily upkeep. You lose the newest chunk each day it's unpaid, and the town falls after 3 unpaid days with only the home chunk left. Deposit with /t deposit.
Is my stuff safe in Forge City?
Yes. Spawn is protected and mob-free. Your personal vault at the Vault Bank and anything in your claimed pod or lot can only be touched by you and people you trust.
How do new items get added to the Exchange?
Hold the item and type /exchange request. Trying to /sell something unlisted counts as demand too. Staff list the most-wanted items, and the News Wire announces each new one.
Something got griefed. What do I do?
Don't rebuild it yourself. Type /report with what happened. Staff can see exactly who changed every block and roll it back.
What happens to my items if the auction doesn't sell?
They go to your claim box. Type /ah claim any time to collect them.
